In my last post, I mentioned that part of my birthday was spent visiting some local antique shops that I had been wanting to check out. The first stop was a bust, but at one antique mall, I found two of the items I have been keeping an eye out for for a long time! I was excited to find 2 treasures to commemorate my 30th birthday.
I have been looking for a brown and cream transferware salad plate in a toile pattern for over a year. I wanted a small, pretty plate for my nightstand to corral my jewelry and hair pins at night. The colors of this vintage plate are perfect in our bedroom and it was only $3.50! It has a small chip, but I think that adds to the vintage character. I love it in it's new home.
I have also been wanting a vintage scale for my kitchen counter. I found two, but decided on this white 1950's version.
I am still trying to decide how to incorporate it into my kitchen, and what to display on top, so if you have any inspiration photos or ideas, I would love to hear your thoughts! Do you have a vintage scale? If you have photos on your blog of how you've used it in your home, or have bookmarked photos that caught your eye on other blogs, leave me a link to the post in my comments. I'll let you know when my scale finds its home in my kitchen.

I LOVE both of your finds! I also have a vintage scale (red!) in my kitchen on top of my fridge along with a large plant beside it. I have a wire basket filled with brown eggs sitting on top of the scale. Adds nice height to the top of the fridge.
Your vintage items are beautiful. You did a great job! Happy late Birthday.
